Mark Welsh

In Residence on the verandahs at Donnelly River Village

17 June – 4 July 2019

Mark Welsh began exhibiting in 2000 and has since participated in a number of group shows and solo exhibitions. His meticulously finished paintings use a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics and natural pigments. He combines these with traditional glazing and painting techniques creating a unique blend of modern and traditional disciplines. Mark’s work has appeared in numerous public artwork commissions, public and private collections and publications over eighteen years.
Mark lives and works in Fremantle with his perennially happy labradoodle, Lily. Lily takes Mark for daily walks in the neighbourhood. Together they look at this and that, sniff here and there, and wonder at things big and small. Back in his studio, Mark puts his impressions down on canvas, nutting out the meaning of life one paint-dribble at a time. Lily, a virtuoso at napping, takes no notice at all.
